Fishing Report: 10/04/2020 Rush Lake (Hartford, MI)

The rain was on and off today with some sunny patches, so the wife and I took a ride out to visit another new look called Rush Lake in Hartford, MI.  Rush Lake is a nice quiet lake that I am told has a variety of species including Largemouth Bass, so that is what I was planning on. My wife does not fish (yet) but she accompanied me with a chair and her iPad just to enjoy the Fall weather for a few hours. We were out there for about 2 hours (boy time does go by pretty quick when your fishing) and just like yesterday, nothing was caught.  I think the cooler weather this weekend pushed most of the fish back into the center, and when your fishing from shore, it is pretty tough. This is one lake I will be back to in the future, especially once I get a little boat.

Fishing Report: 10/03/2020 Mill Pond (Dowagiac, MI)

I decided to head out today to fish instead of tomorrow to try and be ahead of the rain coming through.  Instead of going back out to Paw Paw Lake in Coloma, I decided to drive southeast about 25 miles to the town of Dowagiac and Mill Pond. Mill Pond is known for the location where James Heddon created one of the original fishing lures. I had no luck at all today, it was quiet and peaceful, but nothing was biting.  I was going back and forth between a Texas rig with a "The Original Trick Worm: Green Pumpkin" by Zoom and a crankbait from Cabela, a "Shallow Suspending rad Shad". If the rain clears up in the afternoon tomorrow, I may try another new spot closer to home.
